From the recording Walking With the Moon

This is one of those songs that just crept up on me when I was not expecting or trying to write anything.
The day before I wrote it, I was sitting in a Barnes and Noble reading a music journal.  My eyes lit on this phrase:
"Music is not about perfection."  That phrase hit me like a rock!
I've been hindered in music and life by perfectionism. I made a conscious decision not to strive for perfection on this song.  I used the vocals and instrumentals I recorded on the first take.  It took me all of about thirty minutes.
I decided, what the hell....I'm letting this song fly imperfectly into the world right now.  Freedom!  Yes, freedom from the tyranny of perfectionism.

Lyrics

Walking with the Moon
Walking in the night
Walking without you
Trying not to cry

Walking with the sun
In the early light
Wondering where you are
And did I not love you right

Walking with the trees
And creek behind the house
Wondering what I'd say
If I could see you now

And would I wish you well
As I watched you walk away?
Or tell you go to hell
I'm not sure which I would say

Repeat first two graphs
Walking with the Moon
Walking in the night
Walking without you
Trying not to cryWalking with the sun
In the early light
Wondering where you are
And did I not love you right
Walking with the trees
And creek behind the house
Wondering what I'd say
If I could see you nowAnd would I wish you well
As I watched you walk away?
Or tell you go to hell
I'm not sure which I would say
Repeat first two graphs
